You got the job

First, congrats from Payam and me. We are here to support you on your entire career journey through our work at Admire.

For your new job, we recommend starting by clearly understanding what you need to accomplish and how it contributes to the organization’s priorities.

Initiate a 1:1 and bring your priorities for your manager to confirm or correct: “I think I should start with this task because it supports this priority. Is that right?”

Ask what completing the work requires, when it is due, and who can help you learn. Explain the agreed priorities in your own words so your manager can correct any misunderstanding.

Who owns it?

Tap where each one belongs.

  • Booking your 1:1s
  • Setting the standard for your role
  • Asking for feedback on last week's work
  • Building your development plan

The baby bird trap is sitting in the nest, waiting for someone to bring the worm. It is a reinforcement problem, not a shyness problem:

  • Waiting feels safe right now. Asking feels risky.
  • The cost of not learning hurts you weeks later.
  • So waiting becomes the path of least resistance. It is the wrong path.
