Deliver one small win

Choose an early contribution someone needs. Propose a task you can complete with your skills and available support, then confirm the priority, standard, and deadline with your manager. For a large assignment, propose a smaller part someone can use independently.

Schedule a specific first action: “After tomorrow’s team meeting, I will mark the customer instructions that need updating.” Arrange the access or help required.

Complete the task, check it against the standard, and obtain required approval. Show the recipient where to find it, ask whether they can use it, and make agreed corrections.

Share the result and feedback with your manager. Discuss your next assignment alongside existing commitments.

Where this gets tested Your new team member still needs help Show your attempt: “I can find the account history, but I cannot tell which changes belong in the customer update. Can you show me how you choose?” Read the scenario
